SNALLYGASTER?
I can't tell you how long I thought about the perfect name for this little venture, but I probably could have sanded a baseball bat out of a 4x4 with 1000-grit sandpaper in less time.
I chose "Snallygaster" because it's uniquely Frederick, the county in Maryland I've called home for most of my adult life. As the story goes, a Snallygaster is a mythical creature, a combination of bird and reptile. It is said to have appeared to German immigrants in Frederick County more than 100 years ago.
Since my woodworking is also a combination of things, such as custom-made coasters and personalized woodworking gifts, and I'm here in Frederick County, "Snallygaster" seemed right.
